It was only 2 years ago that the creative and multi talented Kirby de Lanerolle had a vision of a warehouse community centre, inspiring, servicing, impacting and transforming the surrounding communities in Colombo .Within a few months he had he had already found the perfect location down by the old railroads in Colombo 10 and began reconstruction on the dilapidated yet beautiful colonial building. Today the Warehouse Project is a landmark in Colombo known not only for its remarkable work with the local community but also stands as a monument to how any inspired person can make a difference in their community. One could never imagine that this once dark, turbulent teenager would evolve to be the challenge and inspiration to young minds today for setting the example of responsible citizenship.
The dynamic duo and founders of the Warehouse Project Kirby together with his wife Fiona are Ignited to promote Life, Kirby and Fiona envision this generation rising up to be a prosperous nation by means of empowerment. Their idea is simple; create a platform that will facilitate the uplifting of lives through developing new and creative methods to communicate a positive message. Together they endeavor towards a culture of honor regardless of age, sex, religion or background.

Kirby is currently one of the youngest Executive Advisors to the Ministry of Social Services, Co-Chair of International Year of Volunteers Steering Committee IYV+10, Chief adjudicator for the prestigious V Awards.

THE TEAM

Mel Wijegooneratne managers the Warehouse Project, what was meant to be a holiday in Sri Lanka from the UK, turned into a permanent move after being offered the job. She hasn't looked back since.

CC, the Accountant, always behind the scenes at Warehouse Project, but an invaluable team member ensuring the Warehouse Project is operational.

Ramini is a Maradana native and heads up the community. Ramini is also the Café manager, showing off her culinary expertise with traditional Sri Lanka rice and curries and is being trained in cake making

Chandrais based on the property of Warehouse Project and is the first person you will probably see. An indispensable member of the team! Chandra and his Son Kishan live at the Warehouse Project, Kishan is 14 years old and goes to a local school, he is involved in all our programs. He will always greet you with an amazing smile and wanting to help in any way

Warehouse Project works through its branded programs, each focusing on different aspects of community structure, development and involvement. Warehouse Project welcomes people from all walks of Colombo. We don't believe in short terms fixes, we are here to impact our community forever!
