Sri Lanka generates a staggering 7,000 metric tons of solid waste a day (FAO, 2021). A phenomenon driven by rapid urbanization, Warehouse Project has developed a framework to address the island’s alarming urban waste problem, one locality at a time.

As part of the preliminary phase, Warehouse Project launched a waste management program in Hasalaka, Minipe, which seeks to educate the community in and around the area on proper waste management practices.
